Sometimes will crank but won't start.

About 1-2 times a week, this usually happens: the car will crank but won't start; 10 seconds later I try again and it starts up fine. It seems to me that if the car has been sitting more than 24 hours, there is a greater chance of having the crank no start issue.

My battery seems to be ok (12.5V with engine off, 14.2V at 1500rpm with warm engine on).

I am still new to self repairs on cars and would appreciate any help. The spark plugs and timing belt were changed 8000km ago. The car is a stock kouki.

I took a video of the car having trouble starting, don't know if this could help diagnose. In this instance it had trouble cranking and then started, but usually it will crank endlessly without starting until the next attempt.


Do I need a new starter? Is the fuel filter clogged?
