hey dave:
You need to check to light switch, It is a problem on many ae86's my own car has that problem..... it can be fixed by digging out the light switch, and that it apart and clean the suface where the instrument light dimmer slides..... but check the fuses first they are sitting in the driver side kick panel or in the engine compartment. cant remember...
