How do you want to measure oil temperature non-electrically?
Nothing wrong with the accuracy...and it only takes 2 wires to the sensor. I've put a temp sensor in my oil drain plug once, but it broke. It's an easy method, but it's not very practical with oil changes and the wires tend to stick out downward for the first centimeters where they are exposed to the elements. Either use an adapter on the oil filter bracket or oil pressure sender, or just have a piece of metal welded to the oil pan and tap a hole in there (which would be the best place, because it measures the oil right where it should.)
