Speedo sometimes quiets working

I often hear guys complaining about the worm gear in the gearbox, which drives the speedometer, it's made of plastic and when it fails..no more speedo. If on the other hand mean your instrument panel lighting fails sometimes, mine does to...it's a common problem. Just keep tapping the light switch until it comes back to life. The problem can be solved by a little creative resoldering of the circuitboard behind the switch. There was a little write-up on club4ag a while back in the electronics section. I havent done mine yet.
