It's horribly expensive; in NL our government has an excise tax on fuel and then puts VAT on top of that. The excise tax plus VAT is about 50% of the total price. With the current prices, it's worth driving over 100 kilometres to cross the border, fill up the tank and still make a profit.

In other news, this morning I was the odd one out:

I had a company-offsite, and the location was one of the old fortresses near Utrecht. Part of the parking lot was this flock of Citroen 2CVs, which belonged to a company that does team-bonding events. Unfortunately, our company didn't do an event like that.


I arrived early and took the opportunity to take some photos. Unfortunately, the fortress is hidden in the landscape. I also noticed my front fender is misaligned after I routed the wiring of the fog lights through it.
