It's a AE86L-ECMQFG

In regards to the 'Fahrzeugausweis' it doesn't mention the production year either but the date of first registration.

In the case of my car it was produced in May 1985 but first registration was only in April 1986.

As for getting the 'Fahrzeugausweis' this might be tricky if you don't have an old copy as each Canton (we have 26) has it's own registry, hence there's no common database. If you do have any copy of the old ones then the date and Canton of the first registration is mentioned there (Field 36, Area B on the bottom right)

You could try and send an email to all of them asking for a 'blank' duplicate (one that doesn't mention the owner but depending on the person on the other end that's a long shot especially when all you have is the vin number.

I managed to get a duplicate for my Z back in the day but I fortunately had a copy of a version where it was registered last.

PS: if you have a maintenance log of some kind this could drastically improve your chances.
If it doesn't mention the production date, than it doesn't add "value" for my case. So I can safe myself the hassle. Thanks for the information!

The Swiss "Typenschein" (aka the type homologation) only matches the model sold in Switzerland - which doesn't help you either, since the Swiss model had different emissions equipment.

Unless you have more info about the car, you'll be chasing a needle in the haystack to get a copy of the original papers.
I guess I have to find another route Smile I've read some stories online that people used datestamps in some parts to convince the RDW. I'll see if I can use some of that (although not much is still original Sleepy)

Banpei mentions here that he extracted production data from the Toyota EPC. Maybe someone can do this for my chassisnumber? I can't find a working copy online Angel
