Yes, type II (before the facelift of 1985, the AE86 got an update in 1984), the single horn got replaced by two horns. There should be one on either side of the core support.

I did the same thing as with my first AE86: got a set of elastic bands with hooks to tie down anything in the boot. In addition to that, I put a dedicated plastic crate for small stuff in the boot and strapped that down as well. But it doesn't guarantee anything, as the straps could come loose. I have seen a really nice AE86 get ruined by an eager tail wag, launching something heavy into one of these pockets.
