Don't think that would matter that much, ofcourse its not optimal but the stock ECU is probably not optimal anyway.
Have been experimenting in my NA MX5 for several years with NB 1.8 engines (Similar compression bump like the 4ages) on stock NA 1.8 electronics. Drove alot of km's and did several drift days without any faults.
