In my AE86 I did have the extra black plug and even though it used to be a SR5 the actual SR5 was replaced for an EU loom.
BTW, this should be a good resource for the radio wiring: http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Toyota-Wiring.pdf It specifically says do not use for the extra ground.
