If I went the Jenvey route I would likely still have the same problem.
Not sure about carbs as throttle bodies in the case of the 4-age, I would imagine the issue would be the positioning of the fuel injectors on an engine that does not have injectors in the head like a 4-age. Take out the aux venturi and the choke from a Weber carb and you pretty much have a straight through throttle body. Might even be possible to tune them with the choke sizes ?
