Roll Cage

I'm curious about this.
To enter drift comps they require you to have SOME form of a roll cage, right?
Also, how should I go about making this. I have all the materials available, I am just not sure if theres a certain way to make it "Proper".
I'm not really looking for a full cage unless required. I've seen just rear cages but they say they are more for show. Any ideas?
