AE86 roll center adjusters for Carina
All carina people (banpei Wink)

Does anyone know if AE86 roll center adjusters will fit the carina strut? I have heard that AE86 struts are exactly the same as the Carina A60 struts, but i would like if someone could confirm this!

The specific kind im looking to buy are the negative camber roll center adjusters from T3

Do NOT get the AE86 ones... You need the RCAs that fit the GX61 or MZ10 or MA61.

Wider bolt spacing than the AE86 ones.

Avoid the NCRCAs in my opinion.

I've got these exact items in my Carina:

In the front of my Carina I'm using:

Cusco camber plates (can still buy these new for Carina chassis, dont get MA61 / GX61 / MZ10 ones though, they are on the wrong angle)
T3 MA61 Roll centre adjusters
T3 AE86 Castor arms
Home made coilovers with ~6kgmm spring
Citreon Xantia discs
R32 Skyline 4 pot brakes with Feredo DS2200 pads

Handling is nice but at some stage I'll likely go back from the T3 castor arms to standard castor arms with poly bushes instead. Its just extra weight and bulk, more maintenance with the rose joints... For not much gain I reckon.

That would be interesting assuming they will cost me less than new ones, and assuming they will fit my car..

So the people saying that AE86 coilovers are bolt-on for the carina are not correct?
I want NCRCAs to widen the track, mostly cause it looks good and not for the added benefits if there are any. And regular RCAs will not do that!

It would be better to widen the track using adjustable or lengthened lower control arms.. Less bumpsteer.

It would also be a lot more expensive. The angle on the control arms is not really optimal with how much I have lowered the car so I need RCAs, but after taking a look at my car I think the NCRCAs will be too much. I will have to run with A LOT of camber to make my wheels fit..

Yes, the added track width is not all that attractive combined with low to negative offset rims on stock fenders.

Yeah if you're lowering it heaps for looks, just forget about spending money on handling.
It's going to be shit to drive either way so you might as well buy some beers or something instead.

There's a Mitsubishi Sigma or lancer or something which has lower control arms that fit a Carina to give wider track at the front... But I dont know exactly which model.

Definitely the cheapest option though.

If you want heaps of camber then there's no cheap way to go about it though.

Need adjustable camber tops, but then you cant move the struts further towards the towers by much without narrower coilover springs.

Selling your wheels and buying some that fit better is going to be the cheapest option but I'm guessing that's not what you're going for here.

What size wheels / tires / etc? What shape Carina?

P.S. When you're bored of your undrivable stance car that's ground itself into the road... Sell me some Carina parts haha.

Its not lowered insane ammounts, well it is from stock, but not 'I scrape on leaves'-low

I have 15x9" wheels with 195/45 tires, about 2-3 degrees camber in front on a TA62 Carina. You can check my project thread on here if you are interested in suspension spec and stuff.

I dont want heaps of camber, I'm pretty happy with the ammount I have now, but i would want the tires to sit further out, and huge spacers up front is out of the question

Aahhh okay I see I see.

Hmmm I run a 205/50/15 with the lips on the gaurds rolled out, and the inside of the gaurd hammered up for max tire clearance - and still rub tires a bit with 2 degrees negative camber, (Well, if going over a bump fast at partial lock)

You probably cant sit the tire too much further out without rolling up the inside of the gaurds, which is a bit of a mission if you're not intending to flatten out the squared off edge of the lip on the gaurd.

I cant look at your project thread because your gigantic pics give my browser a hernia haha.
