What's the model code on your car?
The 'Typenschein' is the most similar to the CoC but as you noticed it doesn't mention the production year of the specific car.

In regards to the 'Fahrzeugausweis' it doesn't mention the production year either but the date of first registration.

In the case of my car it was produced in May 1985 but first registration was only in April 1986.

As for getting the 'Fahrzeugausweis' this might be tricky if you don't have an old copy as each Canton (we have 26) has it's own registry, hence there's no common database. If you do have any copy of the old ones then the date and Canton of the first registration is mentioned there (Field 36, Area B on the bottom right)

You could try and send an email to all of them asking for a 'blank' duplicate (one that doesn't mention the owner but depending on the person on the other end that's a long shot especially when all you have is the vin number.

I managed to get a duplicate for my Z back in the day but I fortunately had a copy of a version where it was registered last.

PS: if you have a maintenance log of some kind this could drastically improve your chances.

That won't help you, as it's the vehicle papers, so tied to the VIN (unless the car was Swiss?).

The Swiss "Typenschein" (aka the type homologation) only matches the model sold in Switzerland - which doesn't help you either, since the Swiss model had different emissions equipment.

Unless you have more info about the car, you'll be chasing a needle in the haystack to get a copy of the original papers.

If it doesn't mention the production date, than it doesn't add "value" for my case. So I can safe myself the hassle. Thanks for the information!

I guess I have to find another route Smile I've read some stories online that people used datestamps in some parts to convince the RDW. I'll see if I can use some of that (although not much is still original Sleepy)

Banpei mentions here that he extracted production data from the Toyota EPC. Maybe someone can do this for my chassisnumber? I can't find a working copy online Angel

I built that function some time ago and made it available on the AEU86 website:
https://www.aeu86.org/technical/search-p...your-ae86/
Just enter your frame number, and it should tell you the month and year it was produced.

Yes, I know Smile I've tried it and it works Hurray! but a screenshot from the actual EDC (data) looks more convincing and verifiable is my thought.

Ah right. I have the EPC as a virtual machine on my laptop. If you PM me your frame number, I can make a screenshot for you.

Well, it's been a bit quiet in the AE86 department due to busy times at work. I did manage to source some parts and prepare more modifications.

Banpei has tried to help me a lot with getting the original EPC (data), but it gets more and more difficult to run old software. So I decided to just give it a shot and use what is available on the internet.

I filled in the form to report an error in my registration. I've added a screenshot of the online EPC, the production data of this website, a link to the GR Heritage page and a reference to appendix II, artikel 5 of the Dutch vehicle regulations. Those regulations state if it's not clear on which date (month/year) the car was first registered, the date should be set to the 28th of February of the model year of the car (which was in the Swedish papers)

As you can see, they did that! So I'm very happy. I guess a bit of luck was also involved Hurray!

I've moved the car to an area with a bit more room and put it on jack stands to take it apart again (drove a whole 5km already Banging head )

It got quite dusty in the mean time. Suspension is off, gearbox is out and I found some local made coilovers which will be fitted along with new arms, hubs, bearings etcetera Smile

Nice progress and congratulations on the correction! Thumbs up!
That means it is now an official oldtimer. In 10 years' time, you can skip the mandatory bi-yearly APK-check. Hurray!

Congratulations! That's a win. Must say I appreciate RDW's capacity to be helpful and reasonable towards old car owners (sometimes). When you compare it to the horror stories you sometimes see online from some other EU countries we haven't got much to complain here.

interesting seeing the different regulations. In Ireland any car older than 30 years old, is 56euro per year tax (vintage car). Then at 40 years they are excluded from mandatory vehicle testing.

The tricky part is the vehicle testing, because they change the rules regularly. Almost to encourage cars to be scrapped Sad so its quite hard to even pass first time.
