help with steering PLEASE!!!
Hey guys I have been running an s13 front subframe with everything s13.
Now my question is for the people running a similar setup what are your alignment specs??? Because I cannot get my steering to turn back to zero from full lock. I have maxed out my caster at 3.5* forward 3.5* camber 0* toe would I need more caster for it to turn back from full lock??? steering rack is new and there is no binding in the steering. and im using power steering with spl inner and outer tie rods and tie rod spacers. |

Sounds like the steering arms have gone "over centre" to me and they are locking out at full lock.

I think you got too much caster.
Try with 3° or less and tell us how it feel after. Also, take pictures of your knuckles at full lock so we can see what's going on  |

Its definately NOT too much caster. No one on AEU86 can feel a difference of 0.5 degrees. Anything up to 7-9 degrees is perfectly driveable if you don't have extreme poser offset rims.
I drove around with 16 degrees caster before adjustment and noticed that it was a little hard to steer, but nowhere near impossible. Totta Crolla hit the nail on the head: near, or over center steering knuckles. One of the joys of the S13 suspension "improvement". A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

I'm talking about S13 suspension setup.
Many of my friend got that kind of problem on their Silvia: extra steering lock + lowered car = can't turn back from full lock By reducing a few degrees the caster they can... |

Sorry guys forgot to specify its slow to come back to center so
It makes it really hard to not spin out. I figured I needed more caster because s13 Is at like 8 stock. I did try lowering the caster but it made it worse |

on Silvia they have a lot of caster because of the suspension implantation
The top hat of the shock is far back on the car compared to AE86's. Do you have checked if your power steering work properly ? |

Powersteering works good. When I aligned it I did it per s13 specs. I'm
Going to see if doing it for 86 specs makes a difference |
