shim adjustment?

Got a few hours to spare ??
Shims are adjusted by measuring the clearance between the shim
and the back of the cam. If you need to adjust the clearance, you
take out the existing shim and replace it with a shim that is either
thicker or thinner. You can do it yourself if you have patience and
measuring tools (feeler gauges and micrometer/verniers). If you
need new shims, you will have to buy them from Toyota (expensive)
or see if you can get used ones from other 4AGE owners Smile

Or you can take the car to the Toyota Service Centre and have
them do the job... depends on how busy you are, and how much
you want to spend.
