nzae86's TRD ae86 N2 Race Car Project 2,
For a fully caged, wet car, you must be feeling pretty damned pleased with yourself :-)
Nice!

I'm sure there are many with me that are interested in the other results as well.

nzae86's TRD ae86 N2 Race Car Project 2,
Well it was lucky that I decided to stick to my maintenance schedule of pulling the engine down each 20 hours of running , as 1 of the pistons did not pass crack testing. Every other component looks like new still and the TRD bearings could be used again (not that I would) . So new pistons and rings fitted along with bearings and a complete check of every other part.

Still not pulling full revs as only there for testing, best to save that extra lot of revs for race day !

Smile nzae86's TRD ae86 N2 Race Car Project 2,
After sitting in the corner of the workshop for some time , Toyota NZ had a day at my local race track for Toyota owners , so it was time to make some more noise :

No more reply's, well here one:

Wow, what an awesome build
I finally finished all 12 pages, and it's soooo amazing!!!
I have no words for it, speechless!

But, you should consider going outside NZ. If your car would compete in Toyo Time Attack for example here in Holland, it would be very fun and interesting to see.
And there are a lots of racing and events in England and the rest of Europe with all kind of cars.
There are also lots of famous circuits: TRD AE86 N2 on Spa or Circuit de la Sarthe would be a dream to see!

Also what I noticed, if you use 235/50/15 in front and 265/50/15 rear you would be much much faster in the corners. 13 inch is not enough to keep up to GT-R's Sad

But I don't think 265 rear would fit, 235 all around would be enough!

Thanks for the kind words , Yes it would be great to race this overseas , but unfortunately the cost and time would be too great . New Zealand is a fantastic place but at the bottom of the world distance wise to the Japanese race tracks and also Europe .
I decided to keep my car on 13 inch wheels as that is how they were raced from TRD in the 1980's. To fit bigger wheels the TRD body kit needs to be cut and reshaped .

Thanks. I have a tank heater as well & was wondering if it's really necessary.
I suppose when everyone tells you they use one, you use one....
