Not sure if this was posted before - it's been "out" for two years already but seems to only have really caught on now. I would love to have this as a plugin upgrade.
Too sad that even if I would be able to buy it, the regulations in Switzerland would forbid it or require hypercar money to get it legal on the road.

I think I posted something about this two years ago, but apparently the lEVin is making a roadtrip in the US. I first saw it at Larry Chen's channel earlier this week, but I already spotted it in two other bigger channels as well.
It's surely a bonkers idea and I would definitely go for a conversion like this if I would live in an environmental zone where combustion engines aren't allowed. Thumbs up!

Actually, since very recently, this is possible to do in Switzerland now. The new rules are also harmonized with what many (but not all) EU countries have done for allowing EV conversions of older cars.

Looking at the fact they're using a battery module from Lexus, the "certified battery module" requirement may actually be fulfilled already.

Notable detail: Pre Euro2 cars can be engine swapped with "anything goes", as long as you certify them with Euro2 afterwards. That means you can LS-swap an AE86 (or 240Z or whatever) with a brand new crate engine now and get it road legal.

Nice to see some things changed for the better since I left.
Still have a feeling that some of the testing might be expensive.
Eitherway it's not like I'll be going down that road any time soon.
