Cuz of the impoved steering lock - i have some rubbing on the inner fender - oh well - here goes another Nissan guys idea Big Grin

and finally - works on the rear Smile Not much yet done - but this will give you idea about the route im going Smile I aint wanted to do like everyone does and go with the metal bar - so we are going with some fluch mounts to make everything as slim as posible + to lock more or less factory fabricated Big Grin

My Drift project - 83' Trueno coupe
Well - had a bit of problems with the gearbox (SXE10 Altezza 6speed) latly... was trying to order the "right" gear, but the guy whos assembling my gearbox - managed to miss-match the 3 and 4 gears... So instead of the 4th that i need i orgered 3... Sad Atleast i managed to get this switched now, and the right gear is on the way Smile

Last week started with a call from bodyshop guys telling me that they finally started works on the rear AGAIN Smile So heres more process Smile

Gearbox nightmares... Lets now pray that it will be enouth to get this damn thing fixed Big Grin

[Image: AEU86 AE86 - My Drift project - 83' Trueno coupe]

And heres some news from the project S1386

We where trying to squize the rear subframe as MUCH as posible into the body, to have more clearance with the ground, and it seems we managed to do so Big Grin There was some parts that needed rework - but in the end everything was perfect Smile

And here whats left from poor nissan that im using as a Donor car Big Grin

90% DONE Big Grin Suspension is On finally, all of the suspension works are DONE. Now - up to the final stage - wheel arches! As the wheels are "a bit" too wide and a bit too agressive offset to use with the S13 chasis on AE86 - so some modifications need to be done Big Grin Big Grin We are still working to get everything sorted, that it would not rub anywhere Smile

Not much left till i finally be able to put all the small parts of this project into one piece Big Grin Now im starting to think about the color! Big Grin

why not just buy an s13? they cost almost nothing and you can buy loads of aftermarket parts for it.
you can swap in any engine you want, there is plenty of room.

+ you dont have to kill a86's ..

Kill? im sorry... To eatch they own i guess - but modifing is thats what its all about?

If im upgrading engine - i should think about the suspension / brakes too right? Why go with shit load expensive AE86 parts - then you just can go with cheaper solutions like nissan parts and get better results??? Kill you say.... If i wanted somthing for a full restore - i would just bought a stock AE86 - slamed some wheels - and call it a day! But i wanted somthing for a Drift / Track use, wich would looked diferently from all the overplayed S13 / S14's and performend as good as they do! This is the point of all the project... And if you call this Killing - then i can find alot more killed 86 on this forum too...

This thing is looking goood!!!

I love the stance of it, low and wide.

Please don't roll the fenders TOO wide. Just enough to clear the tires by 2mm.

Makes me want s13 running gear on my hachi!!!

But I would keep 4ag though....haha. Big Grin
