No worries, it'll be end October before I'll be back for a visit.

Does anyone know a place to get an OEM to ISO radio adapter harness? Can't seem to find anything for this generation of Toyota radio connectors, just a lot for the next generation that I have in my '92 Camry DD.

Welcome.

I've seen this one when it was still for sale. Looks like you bought a decent spec car.

I never found a ready adapter, so I just bought the modern plug with leads and spliced it into the existing one.

So, was investigating the engine bay today and listened more intently to the engine:
After warmup when it switches to normal idle, I can hear a slight knock. Don't know yet where this comes from, but there's two options:
- The JDM ECU isn't mapped to run the stock 4age with standard 95 octane
- The engine has actually been upgraded in terms of comp ratio and/or cams

Also finally started fixing up the head lights. Also took pictures of the radio wiring harness, will try to find the proper connectors.

About the noise.... Could be valves....

It can be the ECU tunning itself... It is learning new data and it will need some time....
Do you have 98oct gasoline in your place? That should do the trick. Wink

Yes, was going to drain the tank and fill it with 98 octane. Valves have some play too, which I will fix when I've had a look at the cams, whatever they might be.

Fired it up today, still the same 95oct in the tank. No knocking sound to be heard this time, just the normal clickering: link to video. Maybe someone with 4A-GE experience knows what these sounds are?

Noisy valvetrain & injectors clicking. Mine has been like that for 5 years and still runs strong.
