Fujitsubo Sports Catalyser
After the discussion about the SARD sports catalyser, I looked for it on Yahoo Auctions. Whilst looking for this, I came across a listing of a Fujitsubo Sports Caytalyzer, so I looked it up on the Fujitsubo website:

It's basically a high-flow cat with an extra damper. That's a very promising product. I have sent them an email with some inquiries and I hope to get more information soon! Hurray!

Would you install it on your car? I would personally never come back to a catalytic converter, the sound is so good with the Fujitsubo without the cat, it just sounds like heaven.

But I think it's great for people who live in California and in Japan that actually requires a yearly smog/inspection!

You cant just throw a catalytic converter at any old car. You NEED oxygen sensors and an ECU that knows how to use them if you want to keep that expensive cat alive.

I agree, you can't just install a cat on any AE86 if it doesn't have one. This Fujitsubo cat is a direct replacement for the existing cat. If your AE86 already has a cat, the oxygen sensor should be located in the exhaust manifold. What you will lose with the Fujitsubo is the temperature sensor that the OEM cat has to warn the driver when it's overheating.

In Germany, when a car has a catalytic converter, it needs to adhere to smog laws. For them it would be an option, but then the product needs to have Tüv approval. That's not the case in the Netherlands; it's only mandated for cars built after 1993.
