Just a question maybe I'm just not used to a ae86 forum, but is this forum very quiet and not much going on or is it just me?

Im used to our local vw forum and the Audi forum in the UK where it's pumping

Just a question

It is pretty quiet tbh but it's a niche.
Unfortunately, having a broad range of VW and Audi forums, there's a large category to be captured.

And then there's to consider the price/availability of our niche model.
I imagine it's just down to being specialist and specific.

The Corolla Brotherhood forum died in the UK but there's still Club4ag and AE86IE too Smile

Forums die out in general. All replaced by Facebook and the other social media.
Good for stuff that isn't important, but forums used to be a wealth of knowlegde and you could find it quite easily, without having to ask the same question every other week.

Shame, but that's the way it goes Smile

True Story! If only Facebook could implement Forum styles...... That would surely kill forums....

I prefer forums, Facebook is cool for car pictures and funny cat videos lol

Forums are like you said easy to find things

And I like having things in order so having a rides thread helps.

The irl forum is quiet because they have a fb page, club 4age is not tapper talk compatible so only ever browse when I'm on my pc which everytime I'm on there lands up me watching YouTube only

I have the same issue: I hardly use FB as the groups are shallow and you see 10 times the same question or sales post posted every time you open it. At the same time it fulfills what the majority of things that used to be posted here in the past: photos/videos. As long as FB doesn't have a threaded view of things it's not going to endanger forums yet, but once they actually mange to add Reddit-like functionality into FB it would probably kill most forums.
Even if that would happen, the forums and site will stay alive for as long as possible: it really is a collection of knowledge that I need regularly. I try to keep things alive here, check on a daily basis and thanks for bringing this up and caring! Thumbs up!

On a slightly related note: the biggest issue I have with FB is that I basically have three groups of people that are my friends/circles: car people (you bunch I guess Big Grin ), family and colleagues. They simply don't mix: you don't want to see stuff that I like/post with my family and I guess my family or colleagues don't wish to see crazy car stuff. It happened to me on a few occasions that I got strange questions about my bizarre taste for Zokusha. For a while I managed to separate that by creating and posting under a banpei group account where I could switch identities between my personal and car-related account. However a few years ago FB made it impossible to do that anymore as they are convinced you shouldn't hide behind a virtual personality. So now you have to go through all sorts of hoops to make it work. So I stopped posting stuff on FB and I just simply read occasionally.

I have or manage a few pages
I have my fb account "Miggz Camacho"
Then my business page FSU Developments
Friends page CSU Detailing
Then a Toyota twincam rsi page.

I have car people that iv never met and good car mates, then I have not car friends and family

I say or do what I want on my fb page hahaha you don't like it, there is a unfriend button use it. Had my mom say i should stop swearing so much I replied saying she should stop stalking me. My dad and I thought it was funny, she on the other hand did not hahaha

Look fb car pages has its benifits, iv found some good deals there. And occasionally I post a picture of what I did that given week or a random shot of my car and it helps seeing car events near ones location, But that's as far as it goes, I find them rather useless otherwise

The day forums end is the day my car love ends hahaha we need forums.

I personally think we should maybe get a little more active on here.
I will try my best to make a new post or thread at least every second day

Maybe there is in general something necessary between FB and forums? I've seen Carthrottle and Wheelwell try, but their attempts are more pinterest and instagram like.
What would be the thing you miss on forums that exists on FB?

Yeah I'm on wheelwell as well but with the Audi and the Toyota

The only thing I miss on forums that fb has is the movement and the wider variety of people and opinions
