Door lock disassemble
Hi folks!
I have an interesting problem. Have you ever tried to dismount this link from the lock assembly? Seems like it is not repairable at all, but I'm not sure 100%. This assembly is in my spare door at the moment, i only need this link to install to my AE86.
Maybe I should change the whole assembly as well, but I don't want to if it's not necessary.Smile
Thanks!

Door lock disassemble
Can't say I've tried it, but they assembled it, so it should be possible to disassemble it again.
Time is never kind to plastics so there is always a good chance of things breaking.

Door lock disassemble
I have tried to disassemble my door locks on my Carina as they were getting stuck in the open position. I got as far as you did and decided not to tear them apart further. The small clips (called snaps in the Toyota EPC) are quite expensive so I kept them as is and lubricated the lock. I've put a bit of silicone spray on the gliders and that improved my issue.
You can still order these small plastic snaps separately. I think their partnumber should be 69759-20070 or 69759-20080 or 69759-20090 for the AE86.

Door lock disassemble
For completenes if you do want to try:
You have to pull the link a few millimeters out of the plastic clip (on the side with the bend) so you can then compress the clip on the other side enough to pull it out.
As been said beware that the plastic after this many years will be very brittle and it also probably sticks to the link fairly good and chances it breaks in the process are high
