Difference between redtop and bluetop head

Are there any differences in the design of the combustion chamber? Can i run redtop pistons in a bluetop head equipped engine?

I've seen people doing a highcomp-bigport hybrid before, so it will probably work. Dont know if there is any difference in the chamber designs though.

chamber design is exactly the same, you can run even toda 11:1 pistons in blueport, someone here says that blueport have lower head but iam not believing this

edit: Petzk is the man he runs 7rib block and pistons with bigport head

Bluetop CC on my AE86;


They look pretty much the same to me.

Edit; Note that the redtop head has been slightly milled, so the "ridge" along the edge of the squish area looks lower in the pictures.
