so started to practice some work on my spare head - I'll be sourcing a complete engine to rebuild once I'm finished with this head and money allows it. I'm using a Dremel 300 and it works quite well Smile

pic below is my first try at doing this, hope to get better as i go along

just a bad pic - i touched it a little when i was polishing the rest it's got no scufs there - hard to take good pics of shiny things... seats will get a new 3 angle cut anyway.

but that's currently the least of my troubles - car broke down while I was in Grimbergen, conclusion starter dead - pushstarted the car to get home.
crawled under to car to inspect if anything simple was bad - touched the cable goig to the starter to see if it's attached properly burnt my hand and the cable move just enough to cause a short and almost burnt down the car...

so for today enough of cars I'll spent the rest of the day with whiskey and look at the car earliest on monday again

AND yes I didn't disconnect the battery in the firstplace because I was just wanted to take a look... oh mainground battery cable is fried now Sad

Easy fix mate, chin up and get your finger out as the british say Big Grin
While your at it might as well get the starter refurbished. I think you probably have a reduction starter as your is a kouki model, but on my zenki oldfashioned starter the bearings had worn down to a thin shell. Got them replaced for like 15 euro's or something at an alternator&starter specialist.
