Might be worth taking the sump off and then the bearing caps to allow inspection of the crank journals.
There is a good chance that the crank journals will be damaged, a regrind is possible and you will need to strip the engine to get the crank out to do it. Alternatively yes, you could get another bottom end and it would be wise to fit new bearings to it anyway. An analogue brain in a digital World |
