I hope next Saturday to start the engine. But ll start with stock ecu? Can i use it with safety? ok not 8000rpm but 3000-4000 ll be ok?
I know that the right is to be a standalone but i ll buy a plug&play. Emanage of Greddy ll be fine?
Thx a lot

Bad bad english

I don't think it will idle with those settings. And it might run too rich.

You're running too much lift for the stock ECU to cope with it! I would run megasquirt with that setting. I don't think Greddy E-manage will do. Ask ZDoman.

Good luck!

The stock ECU should be able to get the engine running but most probably it'll sound like a ported Wankel engine and probably smell like one, too (unburnt fuel in the exhaust). You'd need to adjust the idle pretty high to keep it from stalling, though - around 1500-2000rpm.

The camshafts have really steep ramps so the manifold vacuum changes very sharply on low RPMs. The ECU can't keep up with it so it'll be constantly jumping between rich and lean. The E-Manage Ultimate doesn't really help as it uses the same MAP signal - just applies its own fuel maps. To work around this problem, you'd need an ECU which can apply Alpha-N mapping (throttle position) instead of the normal speed-density (MAP) for fueling. A Megasquirt can do this and also offers a possibility for a hybrid Alpha-N which allows you to use TPS for low revs and transition to MAP in the upper RPM range. This should make lumpy cams a bit more bearable (and MOTable) in street use.

Thx for the answers
Is the "problem" caused from the high lift(10,3) or from the CR 11,3:1 too? If i replace the cams with lower lift (9,3) ll be the same problem? I want to avoid the buy of a standalone.
Thx a lot again

cams are the biggest "enemy" idle will be bad. I did tryed firehawk cams on my 4agze engine and it was badd with emanage, then i sold the cams to him. Could not drive them and there was very big pressure changes AND my z was AFM model map should be worst than that.

So the solution is to change the camshaft with 9,0 or better 8.1 lift? but i have to change the adgusting of the head. hmmm!
Thx guys

272 cams near 9mm lift i have seen used on 4age engines road use. We have thease N-group ecu what those cams need to work ok (liftet rpm, little different fuel/spark map mayby some more). i assume that greddy emanage, litle bigger injectors. It mayd work ok whit std ecu

I doubt if it will work. Maybe the engine will start, but not properly..
I don't advise you to use it for a long time especially not for breaking in.

Emanage could be a problem on this setup, as we wasn't able to get it working on the MAP sensored AE86... I think your engine control is the same so you should look after a standalone system like MS.
