I could visibly see the top of the mounts splitting - so I was confident enough it needed to be done. Upon further inspection against the new mount, you could see the old mounts had kind of compressed diagonally downwards also.

A few more bits have arrived.

Bought some more Jblood parts (door visors and rear spats) ; and a fuel pump cover by Workshop Takumi. As you can see I'm leaning heavily into the carbon fibre.

Also bought a set of Winds Auto mirrors ; saw them in person at 86Fest when Hiromi had them on display. I didn't have the 86 at that point though.

Finally - something I've long wanted, irregardless of the dash condition, I just wanted to tie in the Nardi red stitching, the handbrake red stitching, the red/black matts, the Brixs in red etc. I picked up a Tec-Arts leather wrap/red stitch dash cover.

All of this was arranged by fellow Irish man Andrew Joyce in Japan - https://firstjoyce.com/en-ie - he consolidated the order and sent in one go to myself. Saved a fair few Euro doing that.

I agree with Ivan: that dashboard cover is gorgeous!
Also good to know the site/company of Andrew. I always see him featured in the Juicebox video's. Neil mentions Andrew has a business, but he never mentions where you can find Andrew's company. Big Grin

I have the dash fitted now - Its an improvement for sure, but I wasn't aware there would be a gap between the cowl and dials. I might have to mess about with it more. Thankfully it doesn't rattle, which I was concerned about. Its a snug fit though, and on the passenger side, they give you extra foam tape to reduce the gap. The wiper and light controls are pushed in slightly more also, but I reckon I can adjust this more. Overall I am happy.

I'll try and get photos at the weekend to show it setup.

That looks really smart! Apart from the vents being a slight bit more recessed, I think this is a beautiful substitution for any cracked dash! Thumbs up!

agreed - the additional recess is a bit annoying, but overall its an improvement. The wiper and light switches are also recessed but it is not as obvious.

Anyway - thanks to Banpei's info - I got the door card off, and proceeded to mount my new mirrors. However they do not line up. The bolt positions are the same, but its almost as if having electric door mirrors to begin with, that my mount points are more recessed. I suspect a back plate of some sort would be required, or even really long bolts.

Can anyone confirm if there is a difference between how manual mirrors and powered mirrors mount to the door ?

While the door card was off - I decided to begin my central locking project; so I mounted a door lock adjucator for now.
