I think - merge collector is not some magic component that will increase something by 20-30%. As usual - the result is sum of all parts - in this case - equal (tuned) length exhaust runners, merge collector, downpipe and properly sized exhaust components.

So you're making a merge collector for the 4A-GE? Will it have any effect on such a small engine?
