Well your front can not bee too sticky at all.
I run semi slicks up front from Toyo and shitty tires in the rear. So just get some really good ones for the front something cheap for the rear. Sizes will not make much of a different as you mentioned them. Going wider and a little less wall height will increase steering response. SO it is a good way to go.
