Well im just thinking about it conceptually, what kind of a car would that make. and in my mind it just works beutifully. Its not about going cheap, its a lot easier to tune the 4age for and aditional 20 hp. altogether i think (if done right) it would make such a neat car.
I dont know a great deal on wankel engines and specially not about ho it is living with a rotary here in Europe (attainability, servicability etc). But i cant shae the feeling that since rotarys are much simpler in design and they have alot less pieces in them, building one would also be simpler and cheaper no? And since i'm rebuilding my own engines from now on it seems, i think i could do that too, if i learn more about them. I also think people are exagarating the reliability issue.. there might be a slight difference, but imo lot of the "wankel-fear" has come from the bad users, who didn't know how to handle and care for one? I love the wankel design its so simple and straight-forward, and because of its properties it would make an idal swap i think. And the transmission is the sam unit as in the miata right? And miata tranny felt better than anything to me (honda s2000 aside maybe Mux could shed some light on this?
