blacktop rev limiter issue

I think the silvertop retards the limiter to 7200/7500rpm or something when you disconnect the speed limiter, but for sure not the blacktop, I always drive with the limiter and it works perfect. RPM tacho's can differ I guess, because a friend of mine has a AE101/Blacktop , limiter reads @ 7400rpm and my AE92/blacktop reads @ 8200rpm.
