High idle equals air leaking in....
The idle speed adjustment screw is under a rubber plug on the top
of the throttle body. Before adjusting this screw (to control the amount of air bypassing the throttle butterfly) you should check :- 1. The throttle butterfly is closing fully (push it closed with your finger while the engine is running) 2. There are no vacuum leaks in the intake manifold gaskets 3. There are no unplugged hoses to any of the tubes on the throttle body (P/S idle-up, A/C idle-up etc) 4. There are no open holes into the intake manifold from missing sensors Cheers... jondee86 The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man. |
