The car handling depends on more than just the car. Mostly the driver.
I have just experienced it. I have 133 hp on the wheels so lets say around 150 on the crank. Its not enough on a track. Even if I lighten the car. The AE86 will keep the problem of having body roll also because of the rear axle. The car could very well handle the supercharger as it has the charateristics of an NA engine but with more torgue.
