electric's double grey JDM Trueno (56k warning)
Hi guys I started a thread about my car that I purchased in general but I figured I would continue on with it here. Here is a link to my original thread: http://www.aeu86.org/viewtopic/just-got-...lly/t/5529
Well the car is complied and rego'd now. It seems weird that it is all finally done but there you go. Once I actually got the car it hardly took any time at all. As promised... Pics! I discovered when taking the rear seat out that there was a massive brace through the chassis itself. This runs directly under where the rear seat sits on the floor of the car. I have found out since then (I had no idea myself) that it enables the rear to run equal length trailing arms? I think I have that right. Have a look and tell me what you think... ![]() first shot of the trailing arms from underneath, if you look you can see that it goes through where the rear seat would be, straight through the chassis and into a custom bracket. ![]() A zoomed in view, gives you a better idea of what I'm talking about. ![]() Here is under the rear seat. Gives you an idea of what I mean when I say its in a custom brace. ![]() ![]() Rear shock set up, tokhico(sp?) shocks ![]() Front brake set up, braided lines and Mazda marked calipers (I'm assuming the RX7 brake conversion) ![]() Front coil over assembly, unknown shocks and springs, do they look like anything to anybody? ![]() Quick pic i took when i first got it, more new ones to come. My first impressions of the car are great, it handles like a dream. It's such a cliche but it really does handle like a go-kart, the new tyres can't hurt that either, stability through corners is incredible. The main surprise is that the car is quicker than I had anticipated. I dont know what it is but the car pulls pretty well from about 3k right through the rev range, second gear pull is amazing. Because this is the only hachi I have driven properly I have no basis for comparison and I am unsure whether this is just a result of the light weight of the thing or some modification I am not aware of? What do you guys think? does this sound about right, as in what a regular hachi should go like? any thoughts or opinions would be great. |
