Turanza's have been around for a while..had them under the MX5 (stock tires) and they were absolutely horrible...cheap comfort tires, not dual duty at all. PS: Your GTI16 should be capable of a 08:45s lap (or even quicker) on fresh T1R's Lots of miata people use the T1R's as dual duty track/daily driving tires. So it is possible...Guess a lot of it is dependent on driver agressivity. Basically, if you can keep them in one piece during a trackday you're either going to slow or a really good driver :-)
