Wasn't the bussiest little bee on the forums for the past couple of months, but today i have started to take apart the engine that we pulled out 4 months ago.

The thing im most dissapointed about is that the previous owner, who obviously did some work on the engine, hasnt really done the job properly. Nor did he try. i know he had the skill, given that he's a proffesional automechanic. No major faults, just litlle its and bits like using random screws, not tightening them to specified torque settings, using non-original service material etcetera.

So the head is off, and other than thick carbon deposits and alot of dirt residue things look decent i guess.. The firrst thing i spotted was a little scratch in the 4th cylinder wall; it isnt big but you can feel it quite well. So im not sure if this calls for redrilling? - Which would obviously lead also to buying new oversize pistons. What do you think?

Tomorrow or in the following days i will be taking apart the bottomend as well and hopefully take some pics. I hope its not too messed up.

PS: i've edited the thread title to Apolan's 86 (working title ). Projecto hachi-worku indicates what im trying to do here - get this car to finally work like it should
