Some useful information: We will build our project car for road car races on karting tracks. Our goal - fastest car there
Till now I and my brother (Imants hate fwd) participate in these races in my VW Golf II gti 16v 139 bhp. This Golf is mostly stock with cheap (russian) sporty dampers at front and unknown Koni at back (from previous owner). I think springs are stock. Engine and everything else - stock. So our best laptimes on track (see pictures) are ~ 1:06-1:07 with good road tires (GoodYear Eagle F1 GS-D3). Best cars (Evo, BMW M3 e36 etc.) with road tires drive this lap about 1:01-1:02. In some of these races are allowed slicks. So the track record with slicks is 58,7 seconds. Our goal - laptime less than one minute on slick tires! |
