Apolan there is no problem to remove material from the peripheral section. Then ballance the flywheel.
People remove material from center and at the back of friction surface because this is easiest (using lathe instead of mill) and sometimes they even missed the ballancing etc. PS: Steel flywheels can be thinner ! Stock flywheels are cast iron. |
