You have squeel plates..little metal clips that come in contact with the disc when the pads are worn..causing a loud squeel so you'll know to replace your brakes, but the ones mux meant are the anti-squeel plates. They make installing pads on my rear calipers nigh-impossible so I only used half of them, without any squeel issues. The rubber pads on the back perform the same function as copper-grease applied to the back of the pads...preventing squeel.
