I don't believe that is the exact case here, but if you say so, it probably is...
Try to check how far your hall sensor (or induction sensor, don't know which is, probably inductive sensor with one wire) is from the plate on the crank plate that is giving him the signal. The further the sensor is from the plate (the teeth that triger him) the weaker the signal is... and vise versa... But it's probably just weak contacts, mass contact ore weak battery...
