Very old topic, but apart from the weaker internals, are the 4A-FE blocks the same as 4A-GE's ?

Can a 4A-FE block be fitted with 4A-GE Crank/Rods/Pistons ?

Most 4A-GE's have done heaps of km's, and its a lot easier to find a low km 4A-FE, with nice bores, to convert to GE spec.

Anyone know?
