Oldskull,
Its easier to do when we have the car raised on the lift. Also need to soak those bolt in loads of WD40 (might want to do that now a few times, get them loose or they may brake when we finally try to undo them, I broke 3 of em on my RX7 and 1 on my hachi ![]() Paint, not sure about a brand but best to go to a profesional auto paint shop and ask for a 2 component epoxy primer. Thats the best you can get but its f'ing expensive. I bought some normal 1 component high quality primer over a year ago when I was painting my RX7 and I still have half a liter left over, we can use that aswell. (for the RX7 I used POR15 for the engine bay which is very expensive but worked pretty good, and I've used this stuff for the transmission tunnel). As for the normal paint, well this is something you need to deside, problem is that you really need to spray this paint and the hi quality paints are only really good for use with a paint gun and that means going into a paint booth. If you paint a good thick primer layer with hiquality primer just using rattlecan paint should sufficiently seal everything up so thats your other option.
