Most germans use 175/50-13 tyres on 13x8's...go figure, about the weight, yes they are heavier than some smaller ones, but I was arsing about with the rota's 13x8 on my volvo last week and the combined weight of the wheel + 23/57-13 slick (equivalent to 250 or even higher width on standard tires) was much less than that of the old cheesy 14" softline alloys with 185/60 tires on them
