@banpei: Isn't your problem caused by the steering lock? It usually happens on my car if there's some force on the wheel pushing the steering wheel in to the lock (for example if you've turned the steering wheel left (into the lock) while standing still). Usually wiggling the steering wheel frees the ignition key.
@ivan: Is it just that your brother has a bad spare key or do you not have a good key at all ? Just have one made at a key shop, my father did that on his 32-year old key as well. It isn't required for the shop to have the exact right key, they can just make the profile on something similar. (In my dad's case a Volvo key for use in an MG). BTW I think it's a good idea to remove all this junk I posted, including this one :-) |
