Yep. All the processing that goes with this swap means a lot of work. A big lump that, but I belive it's worth it if You know Your way around a workshop and have a few helping hands.
I've heard that conversion kits can be found on the used parts market, but that would probably take some cash and hard looking to localize and get. All of them consisting of used, home maid stuff probably, just like this one. Nice and light as a Rover V8 may be, I wouldn't trade the highly tuned 4 cylinder charactere in a hachi for anything else. Me, I want 8.000 rpm and beyond. I want to get as close to an 80's Group A Corolla as I can without loosing too much street value. So. All motor four pots around 2 liters, no respiratory aids please. If You ask me, buying a cut off front end from a Honda S2000 would be the ultimate investment for a swap. A 210 bhp Altezza motor ranks a very close second. If it's heavy there's lots of sheet metal in the front end just begging to be replaced anyway. Well... If I aim for the moon, I might hit the tree tops at least. Now, were was that completely rust free and unwelded hatchback for sale again ...? |
