Kent,
No hachi is called no hachi because he no longer ownes a hachiroku, he sold it to his brother ![]() Prob is that there are alot of peeps out there, especially young ones like yourself, who come on boards like this one or club4ag with grand stories of what they are planning to do and never end up getting anywhere because they dont know what they are getting themselves into. Unfortunately that means people don't always react to kindly when someone new turns up like that even if that person turns out to be the exception to the rule and actually buys the car and mods it as he promised. Strangely enough, people like that are rare. My advise, start at the beginning, get the car, get it running, then do a project at a time and ask for information about your project when you are about to do/doing it. When people get to know you and find out your serious their attitudes will change easily. Then prove them wrong about you and show them you really can do what you set out to do originally. And dont be scared of to easily by people like nohachi and nmwisima ![]() From the sound of it, if your friend lets you use the shop and helps out, and your dad has the skills and wants to help out, you are already half way there. I would listen to the advise though, take it one step at a time, you'll find out there is alot more work in an almost 25 year old car like the hachi roku then you ever figure out at the beginning ![]() Btw NoHachi, uhm, don't you have a corolla in a garage that you had big plans for common, hup to it, get that thing rolling the way you want it to, stop teasing young kids![]() Anyways, enough personal opinnion, moderator time *grin*: People lets not turn this into a flame war. We were all young once and we all had big dreams before we got our car and some of us even made those big dreams come true. Its good that we try to get kents feet back onto the ground so he won't make rush decisions and make the same mistakes some of us have, but lets keep it friendly! Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |
