Car died on me today, RIP fuelpump?

Today is the first day in my 2,5 years of owning my ae86 that it has left me stranded on the side of the road. Today I started the car and started driving home (140km drive), I noticed it was bogging a little bit, but thought it might have something to do with the little bit of oil left around the nr 1 and 2 sparkplugs or something. After driving a bit more the problem was getting worse.. in the end I noticed the engine would hardly rev any more and I decided to get off the road while I could still park it in a somewhat convenient spot. After cleaning the cables and the area around the sparkplugs a bit the car would hardly run any more, and eventually not even try. Had to call ANWB (which is a service that helps you if your car brakes down) and after some poking around we got to the conclusion that there is probably no fuel going to the engine.
I wonder when the first spotting of a hachi being towed will come online.

Now on to the problem solving bit: has anyone experienced a dying fuel pump, and how did that feel during driving? I was thinking of checking for fuel pressure at the return line or the feed pipe to the cold start injector...if anyone has suggestions they are more than welcome.

I reckon it's either a dead fuel pump, a clogged fuel line, or a problem with the EFI (never seen that happen before though).
