The hard thing I guess is making the connections to the other wiring looms. You can probably hook up the GZE loom to the engine, but all the connectors that arent directly related to the engine will offcourse end up in completely the wrong place. You could extend the GZE loom and adapt it to look like the AE86 loom, or you could butcher the AE86 wiring and add what's needed for the GZE. Personally I would prefer to buy some new wires and adjust the GZE loom, that way you have something to fall back on if it should ever be necessary.
You could best wait for Ad's (turborolla) input on this though, he has lots of experience with this.
