I think they will continue, the 26 episodes is the standard season lenght for a TV show on normal TV in Japan. Stage 2 was 13 episodes because they only broadcasted an episode once every 2 weeks so it was half the standard lenght.

Stage 4 however is broadcast on commercial TV so they have a contract with the TV station on a per episode basis with a garanteed 14 episodes having been ordered originally. In theory the series could be endless and they will just move to stage 5 when they hit the end of the stage 4 comic series.

But these are unconfirmed rumours from other fora..
I know... Most anime series are either 13 or 26 eps. I wonder what they will do: the comics are only up to the end of Stage 4. WIll they ask Shuichi Shigeno to write out the next storylines? Dumb question
