Steel on steel without any bushings or helmjoints will soon start to wear down, making the connection sloppier then what you started with. But I'm guessing he's using some sort of helmjoint?
Also remember that a lot of the helmjoints and poly bushings need a lot more maintance. Keeping them "lubed up" is a mayor priority. Even when properly maintenanced some rally cars can go through a set of helm/rose joints in a much as a year or two. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |
